[Cultura Ritmica] [Background] [Services]

In the 90s decade a cultural phenomenon that opened doors to “new” forms of expression emerged in North-America, then a few years later in some European countries as well. Such phenomenon is that of the drum, percussions and drumcircles.

Beyond the realm of professional musicians, drumcircles sprouted in many spheres of North-American society. Such manifestation expands all over the world and keeps on growing and evolving amongst groups with the most diverse objectives: cultural, development, growth, art, meditation, health, creation, community building, special projects, well-being, stress-release, therapeutic practices, cooperation and communication techniques, conflict resolution, motivation, teambuilding and of course for the sheer pleasure of rhythmic expression. Consequently this aroused the need for information, research and practical and scientific experimentation. At the same time it opened the race for the formation of rhythm specialists: teachers, scientists, drum and percussion makers and designers, therapists, promoters, guides and facilitators.

At present time and all over the world, drumcircle facilitation is becoming a highly featured activity in many different sectors: health, corporate, growth, spiritual, education and a few other categories where people gather in groups.

In the dawn of the third millennium such phenomenon begins to expand beyond USA and Europe, people in many other countries is becoming familiar with drums and percussions, rhythmic traditions and drumcircles. Such circles vary according to objectives and motives.
